Helping Superstorm Sandy Victims

If you have time to crochet a quick scarf, hat or blanket to aid Sandy victims, here are some organizations that are collecting fiberwear for the victims of Superstorm Sandy.  This is a great way to use up some of your yarn stash that's been sitting around for a while.  I'll update this page as I find more organizations.

My Merry Messy Life  

My Merry Messy Life has organized a blog, shop, and fan hop where other bloggers commit to make winter hats and scarves for those in the New Jersey and New York City areas and mail them to the address below. What are needed most right now are warm weather items such as - hats, scarves, gloves, socks and blankets.

Knit-Felt-Crochet-Weave for Hurricane Sandy Survivors
This Hurricane Irene survivor has started a Facebook Event to collect: mittens, hats, scarves [any / all sizes], afghans, and baby blankets for New Jersey and New York residents affected by the storm.   Mail items by December 1, 2012 to:
