Crochet Helmet Liner - Update

Finally!!!

I've finished my first helmetliner and it's found a new home.

My helmetliner is on its way overseas, courtesty of a co-worker, who has adopted a 19 year-old soldier stationed in Iraq.

Here's my husband modeling the finished work. As you can see, it covers the entire head and neck and leaves enough room for peripheral sighting. He's a Gulf War I veteran and vouches that it's comfortable and warm.

Here's my co-worker modeling the helmetliner. As you can see, it works well for women too. Thanks C!

If you're interested in adopting a soldier, the link is: http://www.adoptaussoldier.org/

Adopting a soldier is as easy as writing letters or as involved as sending care packages. Your level of participation is entirely up to you. Soldiers can also register on the site to be "adopted" too.

Feel free to leave comments on your success stories.

If you don't feel like adopting a soldier you may send your finished liners to:

Citizen SAM

Stitch on!

Good Job!! Looks like your modifications worked fine. I'm sure your soldier will appreciate it.

Speaking of soldiers, thanks to your husband for his service (and for being a good sport modeling your work).

Enjoyed your blog--keep up the good work!!
